INCREASE IN MEASLES IN THE COMMUNITY

We have  been made  aware there has been over 400 confirmed cases of measles in England since January 2018. The increase in cases is mainly associated with importations from Europe that have led to some limited spread in the local population, particularly young people and adults who missed out on MMR vaccine when they were younger.

We will be offering 2 doses of the MMR vaccine to any patients born after 1970, patients born prior to 1970 will be offered a blood test to check immunity.
